Characteristics
- Normal Skin is simply Ideal Skin. Normal skin type is tight but not too tight and it’s firm. It doesn’t produce excess of sebum, it’s easy to cleanse and pores are almost invisible. It’s good hydrated, delicate, smooth, and quite thin. Even if you have an oily T-zone with dry cheeks or your skin changes with the seasons, which oilier skin in the summer and dryer skin in the winter, you are considered to have normal skin.
How to Take Care
- Wash your face: twice a day (morning/evening).
- Skin cleansers: use gentle cleanser to not irritate your skin.
- Skin tones: are refreshing but not needed by normal skin type, avoid toners with alcohol.
- Skin moisturizers: helps to maintain proper hydration, excellent if contains sunblock of at least SPF 15.
- Drink water: plenty of water.

Cosmetics have influence on the outer parts of the skin mainly and their active components cannot reach the deepest layers of inner skin where the most serious damage caused by smoking takes place. Clinical tests have proved that the skin of a smoker is getting older faster than that of a non-smoking person. Doctors call the type of changes that undergo inside human skin as Tobacco Face syndrome.
Don’t fool yourself, there’s no such thing as safe tanning. Any kind of exposure to the sun will result in damage, from wrinkles, liver spots, and even skin cancer.
- Don’t touch or rub your face.
Touching your face with soap, as it can irritate the skin. Always use a gentle cleanser, preferably without perfumes or colorants.
- Do wash your face twice a day.

- Do always take off your makeup.
Take off your makeup especially before going to bed, no matter how late it is or how tired you are. Makeup will clog your pores if left on for too long, which can cause acne to develop.
- Do awalys use a moisturizer.
Even if you don’t have particularly dry skin, moisturizer can help hydrate the skin. Without the hydration, skin can become dry and eventually promote wrinkles.

- Keep a pressed powder on hand for oilier moments or more humid days.
For Dry Skin:
- Using hot water will make your dry skin worse
- Choose a double-duty foundation that moisturizers while helping to smooth out skin tone.
- Always choose creams that are based on natural hypoallergenic ingredients.
- Avoid alcohol-based products.
- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
For Oily Skin:
- Follow up the cleanser with an astringent. This will remove all excess oil.
- Use water-based formulas for all your make-up, especially foundation.
- A powder is your best friend to help control your oily look throughout the day.
- Use an exfoliant at least twice a week.
For Combination Skin (part oily and part dry):
- Try out different foundations
- Before using foundation, do not forget to apply moisturizer or serum on the dry areas of the face.
- Avoid mixing ingredients of different skin care products. Instead use products designed to care for combination skin.
- T-Zone has to be dealt more carefully because of more active sebaceous activity. Choose an oil-managing powder for your T-Zone (and other oily areas).

Cellulitis is a bacterial infection of the deepest layer of your skin. Bacteria can enter your body through a break in the skin - from a cut, scratch, or bite. Usually if your skin gets infected, it’s just the top layer and it goes away on its own with proper care. But with cellulitis, the deep skin tissues in the infected area become red, hot, irritated, and painful. Cellulitis is most common on the face and lower legs.
You may have cellulitis if you notice:
- Area of skin redness or swelling that gets larger
- Tight, glossy look to skin
- Pain or tenderness
- Skin rash that happens suddenly and grows quickly
- Signs of infection including fever, chills, and muscles aches
Cellulitis can be serious, and possibly even deadly, so prompt treatment is important. The goal of treatment is to control infection and prevent related problems. Treatment usually includes antibiotics.

Also called: Pruritus
Itching is skin tingling or irritation that makes you want to scratch the itchy area. It’s a symptom of many health condition. Common causes are:
- Allergic reactions
- Eczema
- Dry skin
- Insect bites and stings
- Irritating chemicals
- Parasites such as pinworms, scabies, and head lice
- Pregnancy
- Rashes
- Reactions to medicines
To soothe itchy skin, you can try cold compresses, lotions and lukewarm baths. Avoid scratching, wearing irritating fabrics and high heat and humidity. Most itching is not serious. However, if you itch all over, have hives that keep coming back or have itching without apparent causes, you might require medical attention.
